A walk with MAREK WOLFRYD

It began in an unexpected yet familiar place: an IHOP, where Marek and I met for breakfast. From there, he proposed a simple instruction that shifted everything—he asked me to close my eyes. I held onto his arm as he guided me through the streets, describing each pause, each step, each change in direction. He warned me of curbs, stairs, and turns, transforming the city into something I could only perceive through trust, sound, and movement.

After some time, we entered a building and began ascending a long staircase—four floors up. At the top, Marek asked me to open my eyes. I found myself standing on a rooftop, suddenly surrounded by an expansive view of Mexico City. What had been an unseen journey became a moment of clarity and revelation: the city unfolding all at once, framed by the quiet awareness of how I had arrived there. The walk was not only about distance, but about perception, vulnerability, and the act of being guided through the unknown.
